You probably have been hearing a lot about satellite radio these days. The reason for that is that the signal is being sent by a system of satellites that are orbiting high above the earth and therefore there are no obstructions to degrade or interfere with the radio signal. So you can pretty much drive anywhere you like and your satellite radio signal will still be clear with no distortion.
